ParkComfy
ACAP for Axis cameras

Parking access by licence plate, running on the camera itself.

ParkComfy turns the plate reads of AXIS License Plate Verifier into decisions: who may enter which car park and when, how many spaces are left, which barrier to open – with a log of every vehicle and every change.

No server – runs as an app on AXIS OS 12.9+Any number of zones and ALPV cameras60-day trial licence
ABC123 Main car park · entry – permit of Anna Kovács, group Staff, office hours Gate opened

From a plate read to an open barrier

Every read goes through the same six checks, in this order, within milliseconds. The result and the reason are written to the App log, so nobody has to guess why a gate stayed closed.

1 · READ

The camera reads the plate

An ALPV camera pushes the plate, country, make, model, colour and direction over HTTPS.

ABC123 · HU · Skoda Octavia · white
2 · CORRECT

Known misreads are fixed

Plate corrections turn a regular misread into the right plate before anything is decided.

A8C123 → ABC123
3 · PERMIT

The permit is checked

Validity, zones and – if set – the vehicle data, which must match the read as well.

Permanent · Staff · all zones
4 · ZONE RULES

The zone decides

Opening hours, who may park here and when, capacity, group quotas, lockdown.

Staff: office hours · 97/120
5 · GATE

The barrier opens

Through an I/O output of an Axis device, an HTTP command, or left to another system.

I/O 1 on A9161 · 500 ms
6 · LOG

Everything is recorded

Currently parked is updated and the App log keeps the read, the images and the reason.

What the operators and the administrators get

One app for the security desk and for the people who set it up. Each user sees the pages and zones of their role.

Currently parked

Every vehicle inside each zone, how long it has been there, its holder and free spaces – live.

Gate control

Camera image of each barrier and a manual opening with a reason, the plate and an optional guest pass to an inner zone. Each user arranges their own cards.

Permits and groups

  • Permanent, one-time or time-limited
  • Strong criteria: country, make, model, colour
  • CSV import with checks and undo; Active Directory

Entry times per zone

Time profiles with public holidays decide when each group – or single permit – may enter each zone, on top of the zone’s opening hours. Leaving is never blocked.

Overstays and statistics

Limits per group, zone or plate; occupancy, busy hours, length of stay and refused entries for any period.

Lockdown

Stop all entries, all exits or single zones in one step. Reads are still logged; manual opening is locked as well.

The app

The same interface for the camera’s administrators and for app users, in light and dark, on a desk monitor or a phone.

Zones with their occupancy, the key figures, and every vehicle with its holder – the phone number is one tap away.

Built for a security system

Plates, names and phone numbers are personal data. ParkComfy keeps them on the camera and makes every access traceable.

Data stays on the camera

No cloud, no external database. With an SD card encrypted on the camera, logs and images are stored on it.

Roles, zones and times

Each role sets pages, zones, view or edit, and when it may be used. Domain users sign in with Active Directory – only when added by hand.

Encrypted exports and backups

Every export is an AES-256 encrypted ZIP; backups are always encrypted. The password follows the camera’s password policy.

Everything is logged

The App log records each read and manual opening, the System log each change, sign-in and export – with user and IP address.

Read-only API with client certificates

Reporting, VMS or SIEM systems read data with signed, single-use requests. Answers are encrypted for the client’s certificate and signed by the installation.

Axis events for the VMS

Plate read, refused, zone full, overstay, lockdown, manual opening and more – as camera events for Milestone XProtect or event rules.

Requirements and licensing

Install the app on one camera; it takes the reads of as many ALPV cameras as the site needs.
